Attention

TOWN BUILDINGS CLOSING EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 30TH 
With the increase of COVID-19 cases, and to protect the health of Town employees and residents, the Town is closing all buildings to the Public.  The closure will become effective as of the close of business today, November 25, 2020, until further notice. All Departments will continue to operate and provide services.

 If you have a police, fire or medical emergency please call 911.

Utility Bills may be mailed or dropped off in the outside box at Town Hall.  We encourage residents to enroll for ACH payments for future payments (call the CT office).

Building permit applications, business and contractor’s registrations may be done online.

The Public Works recycle drop off is available by appointment.

Special services for Police and Fire are by appointment only please contact the department listed above.


Employment Opportunity: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS - TEMPORARY SEASONAL LABORER 

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR: 

1 Police Commission position – 3 year term

5 citizen members are appointed by the Town Council with no more than 3 being of the same political party. Candidate can be of any political affiliation. 

1 Park Board position – 4 year term

Citizen members are appointed by the legislative body per I.C. 36-10-3-4. No more than 2 of the members can be of the same political party unless members of a given party are not available. Candidate must be of a Republican or Independent affiliation.

Reassessment Property Inspections - A message from Lake County Assessor LaTonya Spearman
Reassessment of real property is an essential function of local government, specifically the Assessor's Office. In order to accomplish that function, employees and contractors of the Assessor's office routinely perform site sections.  This function is essential to reassessment and thus any individual performing that function should be exempt from the "Stay at Home" order.  At this time, I have instructed any individual performing this function to inspect exteriors of property, including taking measurements and photographs.
