ROAD PROJECTS UPDATE
INDOT US 30 PROJECT
WORK HOURS HAVE CHANGED (as of 9-22-14)
There will be 1 lane closure per week to do concrete patching for the next 4 weeks. This closure period will be from Sunday 6:00 pm to Friday 12:00 pm. During this time there will be one lane permanently closed to do the work.
The patching will be completed by Nov 1 and the joint sealing completed by Nov 25th.
The Schulte St. project has begun, access to the Town Hall may be limited to the US 30 entrance during the Schulte St. project (3-4 weeks).
Main St. will be closed October 20-23rd and should be reopened to traffic on Friday, October 24th. This is for the repaving/patching work they are doing for Munster/Highland/Schererville. That work begins just west of US 41 and extends to the Dyer/Schererville line which is just east of the washout area in Briar Ridge.

Saturday, October 25th is the official “Make a Difference Day” in America. U.S.A. Weekend Magazine, Newman’s Own and Points of Light, sponsor this event that is in its’ 24th year of operation. Millions of volunteers participate by reaching out to others in need of food, clothing, shelter and other aid.
The Dyer Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Dyer invite you to join with us in “Making a Difference” in Dyer. We hope to make this a project that every resident will want to support. Click on picture to get more information.
The Town Council will be accepting applications for Boards & Commissions from October 13th through 3:00pm on November 14th, 2014. Here is the listing of openings: 1 Board of Zoning Appeals Member, No political affiliation required; 1 Park Board Member, per state statute must be a republican, 2 Plan Commission Members, per state statute must be republican, 2 Police Commission Members, per state statute must be 1 democrat and 1 republican; 2 Recycling Commission Members, no political affiliation required; 5 Redevelopment Commission Members, no political affiliation required; 1 Stormwater Board Member, per state statute must be democrat.

The recent power outage experienced in our area on July 1st should serve as a reminder that our Town Hall can be made available as a cooling shelter (warming shelter in the winter) in the event of a prolonged power outage. read more...
