The Town of Dyer, Indiana was founded in 1855 and incorporated in 1910.  During its history, the Town of Dyer has established itself as a progressive community that maintains a vision of the future while building upon a strong foundation of past accomplishments.

The Town of Dyer has the proud distinction of having been listed on the
"100 Best Places to Live in the US" by CNN and Money Magazine.

In 2015, the Town of Dyer was ranked #15 in the State of Indiana
as "The Best Place for Young Families" by Nerd Wallet.

Additionally in 2015, the Town of Dyer was ranked
as the 9th Safest City in Indiana by SafeWise.

The SafeWise Report Announces the 30 Safest Cities in Indiana

The SafeWise Report released its “30 Safest Cities in Indiana” report this week. To compile this report, SafeWise used the most recent FBI crime data from 2013 to analyze and rank these cities, which all have a minimum population of 4,000 people.

“The Hoosier State’s safest cities have a lot to be proud of when it comes to keeping neighborhoods safe,” SafeWise security analyst Alexia Chianis said. “We were impressed to see that 75 percent of cities that made our list for 2015 also made last year’s.”

The Town Wide Garage Sale has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at Northgate Park from 8am until 2pm.  We have over 80 spaces filled with treasurers for everyone!!   read more...

Central Park refined Master Plan

The Dyer Park and Recreation Board recently approved a refined master development plan for Central Park. This long term development plan for the park shows the ultimate goal of providing recreation spaces for all ages while also being aware of the parks location between future commercial development and existing residential development. Dyer Dog Park

Registration for 2015 Dyer Dog Park memberships has started! Located at Central Park, the three acre facility includes a small dog area and a large dog area. Complete with benches, dog waste stations and shelters in each area the dog park is open year round from dawn to dusk. Each area of the park includes its own water fountain for the dogs (but is only on seasonally during the warmer times of the year).

Individuals and their dogs visiting the dog park must be registered at the Dyer Town Hall Parks and Recreation office. To register the annual fee of $60 per resident dog or $108 per non-resident dog must be paid along with proof of required vaccinations. Register now for 2015! Additional dogs do receive a discounted rate. Please read through the attached dog park registration packet which includes much more useful information, details on dog park requirements and the necessary registration form.

As of September 1st, the 2015 dog park fees have been discounted. You can now register for the remainder of 2015 for half off the regular fees (which are shown above). Memberships are good for the rest of the year.

Registration for 2016 Dyer Dog Park memberships will begin on November 2, 2015 at the full year rate.
